JAM PAPER 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 Open End Catalog Commercial Envelopes – White – 50/Pack
$ 0.06
Believe me, I tried to find problems with these envelopes — but I couldn’t. The paper is very thin so don’t push your luck by over-filling it. If all you’re mailing is regular letter paper (8.5″x11″), it’ll be fine. Because of its thinness I put something inside that had thick letters and very dense black and red ink on it to see if the contents can be read through the envelope. When I looked at it very closely I could make out a random word or two, but I had to really work at it. The ordinary print my printer puts out doesn’t show through. The thinness might lower your postage costs (I don’t know yet if that’s possible, but the weight of the paper is definitely lighter than any other large envelopes I’ve had in the past). To seal it you need to moisten the flap’s glue, but I won’t be doing that. I prefer to seal glued envelopes with tape (the clear kind the Post Office sells for sealing packages). One other thing I like is the pure white color (versus the usual Manila-colored envelopes). Looks nicer. Have to laugh at the name: Jam — exactly what you don’t want your printer to do. As you can see, I’m easily amused.
