The tropical plant produces tiny, star-shaped flowers of red, pink, orange, and yellow colors, clustered on the tips of stalks. There are a number of named varieties, differing in the color of flowers (yellow, pink, orange) and size of plants. The most widely seen types bear scarlet flowers, known as Flame-of-the-Woods; yellow-flowering varieties called Yellow Ixoras exist, as well as others that bear flowers of pure white, as well as varying shades of pink, orange, and red.  Ixora is probably the most prevalent blooming shrub seen in south Florida, and Nora Grant is probably the most popular among them. Thai Snow Ixora flowers sparingly and irregularly with clusters of star-shaped white or nearly white flowers beginning early summer from the beginning of the year, continuing into late fall, in warm, semi-tropical climates.
